At the official opening on the 9th of May, 2013

 

 

“Shaping Identities Together/ Ag Cruthú le Chéile” was a group show in Leuven, Belgium that explored the theme of Irish identity and Ireland’s place in Europe. It was part of the cultural calendar for the Irish EU Presidency in 2013. The artists involved were Hughie O’Donoghue, Colin Martin, Geraldine O’Reilly, Robert Russell and myself.

 

There was an illustrated catalogue to go with the exhibition, with a foreword by Director Caroline Nash and essays by Seamus Heaney, Niamh NicGhabhann, Jackie Ryan, Dermot McGuine, John McCafferty and Joseph MacMahon OFM.  To read NicGhabhann’s essay,  click here
